In the late ’70s, Rick and Karen went out on a date when they were both high school students in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Karen thought they had hit it off, so she was very surprised when Rick never called her again.
Rick and Karen ended up marrying other people and had children. Both of them eventually divorced.
Then, in 2010, they reconnected on Facebook. The second they saw one another on Facebook, they thought of what could have been.
Exactly 33 years after their first date, Rick finally asked Karen out a second time. He also revealed the reason he never called Karen after their first date: “I was shy, and then too much time went by.” He thought she’d be mad for never calling!
It wasn’t long after Rick and Karen’s second date that they fell deeply in love. The budding relationship brought the two to an overwhelming realization about fate, timing, and true love.
“Karen brought love back into my life and made me feel whole again,” Rick said. “I don’t think I really knew what your other half meant until now.”
After Rick proposed to Karen, he told her they were going to New York to go wedding-dress shopping. Little did Karen know that Rick had been hashing a secret plan with the producers at the Rachael Ray Show — and their wedding would be happening a lot sooner than she had thought…
