A man named Zach posted a photo on Facebook announcing his engagement to a woman named Somaly. One hour later, Zach who’s from Decatur, Georgia, uploaded another photo with another woman whose named was not disclosed.

Then, he posted another photo with a different woman from the first two while Somaly was in the background seemingly upset. That’s when their friends finally realized what he was trying to do.

The caption of the first photo simply said: “We finally made it official!”

Zach wrote a lengthy one for the second photo: “Wow! I couldn’t believe the overwhelming support I received online for getting engaged! So many of you liked my post that I went ahead and got engaged a second time! Thank you everyone for all your encouragement!”

This is what Zach wrote for the third engagement photo: “Wow everyone! Thanks to your love and support online I was able to get engaged for a third time! So excited for our future together!”

Zach sort of stated the obvious in the caption of the fourth one: “Simply incredibly! My engagements have been so popular online that I proposed for the 4th time today! Thanks everyone for making this possible! It’s hard to grasp how much online love and support means to me, but I want to thanks each and every one of you for lifting me up with likes!”

Zach changed path and for his last photo, he took a photo with another man, saying: “The amount of support I’ve received from getting engaged has been life changing and I wanted to pay it forward to you, my fans, by getting engaged a fifth time. Thank you for all the encouragement online and we appreciate all the likes and shares that you’ve offered up to support our new life together!”

All of the photos were taken as screenshots from Facebook and posted on Imgur. Almost all of the photos received the equal amount of likes from their friends, leading Zach to believe that people don’t really pay attention to the actual post and text. They would just hit the like or reaction button as sort of a reflex when it came to scrolling around Facebook.

His friends eventually caught on the joke halfway through it. The best part of this joke is the girlfriend in the background giving a reaction of despair to all of the photos as she watched her man get engaged to four other people.
