The legendary actor’s youngest children open up and recall memories of a time when their father was suffering from a horrendous disease.
Michael Landon left behind nine children. His two youngest children were shared by him and his third wife, Cindy. Sean, 31, and Jennifer, 34, are all grown up and look just as attractive as their late father.
Jennifer was just 7 years old and Sean was only 4 years old when Michael was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, as revealed by Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
After only three months, he passed away and his family and the rest of the world grieved over such a tragic loss.
Jennifer and Sean previously shared their memories with their father. They often talk about their treasured memories with their old man and they also watch television shows where he starred in, such as Little House on the Prairie and Bonanza.
In 2014, it was Michael’s 23rd death anniversary. The family spent the day together and reminisced about their special memories with the famous actor.
Sean explained that he was too young to know that his father was famous, but he knew that he was a fun and playful kind of person.
Both Sean and Jennifer recalled that their father would let them eat the sweet treats that they wanted in secret because their mother was too strict and wanted them to eat only healthy food.
At present, both of Michael’s youngest have their own successful careers.
While Sean is in real estate development, Jennifer followed the footsteps of her father and became an actress, as well as a writer and a musician.
Meanwhile, both of them admitted that losing a parent as a child had a long-lasting effect on them. They said they never fully understood how the loss shaped them as individuals.
For Sean, he said that the loss made him stronger and empathetic to others who are going through difficult times.
He said those characteristics remind him of his beloved father.
