Baking has been part of the kitchen duties of moms and cooking enthusiasts alike. And of course, with baking comes the essential baking utensils that have gone through a lot of trips to the oven. Through years of use, these utensils become worn out or stained, and before you knew it, you are reaching for a trash bag and considering buying a new set. But before you do that, you may just want to try these tricks to make those old bakewares of yours look good as new.
For your Grimy Glass (Or Pyrex) dishware
What you’ll need:
- Liquid Dish Soap
- Baking Soda
- Water
- Aluminum Foil
- Old Toothbrush
- Set aside a small amount of baking soda to dip your toothbrush into later.
- Dip the old toothbrush into the liquid soap, and then the into baking soda.
- Using circular motions, use the paste to cover the nasty stains on your glass bakeware. You can also use a cloth to apply the paste for larger areas.
- Let the paste to sit on the glassware for 20–30 minutes. Afterwards, use a piece of crumpled aluminum foil to scrub away at the softened stains.
For stainless steel cookie sheets
What you’ll need:
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Baking Soda
- Rough Scrubbing Pad/Sponge
- Sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda over the pan.
- Afterwards, put another layer of hydrogen peroxide over the baking soda.
- Cover the entire layer again with baking soda.
- Leave the pan for an hour or two and then scrub. You will see that the stains will come off with ease.
Another method for stainless steel cookie sheets
What you’ll need:
- Paper Towels
- Water (small amount to make paste)
- Baking Soda
- Aluminum Foil
- sprinkle on a little baking soda and spread the powder with a dampened paper towel.
- Use a crumbled piece of aluminum foil to scrub away the harder stains with the somewhat thick paste left on the pan.
- Wash with soap and warm water, then let it air dry.
For aluminum trays
What you’ll need:
- Water
- Distilled White Vinegar
- A Cooking Pot
- Scrubbing Pad/Sponge
- Fill the cooking pot with equal parts water and white vinegar and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once it’s boiling evenly, remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Dip the scrubbing pad in the mixture and start scrubbing.
- Once the stains are gone, rinse the pan with warm, soapy water and let it air dry.
