It’s just a little decorating fun not meant to make you fear or run!
Happy Halloween from The Seasonal Home
Inspired by last week’s spotlight I shared on our sponsor DESIGNER PLAYGROUND and using wall decals to decorate for the holidays, I decided to add spooky spider & bat decals around The Seasonal Home’s fireplace.
If you live in a warmer climate (as I do), where fireplaces aren’t used too much in the Fall,
a great alternative is to fill the opening with other lighting.
Last year, I used lanterns (click HERE to see that design) and this year,
I hung a set of very spooky lighted eyes behind lit branches & a row of pumpkins.
Above the fireplace, I hung an old wreath (do you believe I was going to throw this away?!)
and added a large spider I picked up at a garage sale for only $2 (SCORE!)
To make the spider’s eyes more creepy, I used scotch tape to create 4-light clusters of (battery-operated) Orange LED mini lights ($5 @ craft or box stores), glue dots to attach them to each eye & tucked the battery pack inside the wreath. The remaining lights lit up the inside perimeter of the wreath (BONUS!)
Last but not least, I added some Halloween goodies I already had: Fold-out Halloween Tree Spider Lights BAT wall decals (from last year)
Spider candles
SPOOKY sign Creepy cloth
finishing it with a cool vase, found after Halloween on clearance ($6 – Home Goods)
Here’s the completed look:
